Villain Revealed for ‘The Flash’, ‘Arrow’, ‘Supergirl’ and ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ Crossover Event

“We’re excited to announce,” reads a Warner Bros press release, “that the Big Bad for this season’s 4-way crossover between Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will be DC Comics’ Dominators.”

“This year, for our mega ‘Arrowverse’ crossover,” explained executive producer Marc Guggenheim, “we’re taking inspiration from a DC crossover from the late 1980s known as Invasion!, which featured an alien race called the Dominators, who’d previously vexed the Legion of Superheroes.”

1989’s Invasion! event saw the Dominators becoming concerned at the burgeoning number of metahumans on Earth, genetically enhancing their own metagenes to take them on. It’s not yet clear if that will be the reasoning for this TV-centric invasion, however.

“We’re using cutting edge prosthetics and computer effects to achieve a feature film-quality look,” explained Guggenheim, “which is faithful to Invasion! artist Todd McFarlane’s interpretation of the characters.”

The crossover has been described as “the biggest one ever” by CW head Mark Pedowitz, and is due to air this December.

‘The Flash’ and ‘Supergirl’ Staging a Musical Crossover

Written by Rory on August 12 2016

It’s the moment fans of the Berlanti-verse have been waiting for: The Flash and Supergirl will be staging a musical crossover episode!

“Yes, there will be a musical crossover,” executive producer Greg Berlanti told reporters at the Television Critics Association’s press tour on Thursday. “There’s going to be a musical pair of episodes in the back half of the year between Supergirl and Flash.”

Of the music they’ll use, Berlanti noted, “I think they’re going to be mostly preexisting songs.”

Practically the entire cast of The Flash has musical talents, including Grant Gustin and Jesse L. Martin, as well as the Supergirl cast, including Melissa Benoist and Jeremy Jordan. “Some of you may know my own personal love of musicals and actors who have been in them, and we have a number of people who can sing across all the shows who will be making some very exciting appearances in the back half of the year,” Berlanti said.

“I’ve probably been leading the charge myself just because my own nexus of loving musicals and loving superheroes,” Berlanti said. “So many times it’s a musical episode off the set, and I think on all the shows, we love to use all of the character talents as much as possible. We’ve toyed with who potentially the villain could kind of be. My sense is we’ll be very careful about how it is they kind of break into song and there will probably be an element of being in some character’s head at the time.”

This crossover is not the same as the four-way crossover between The Flash, Arrow, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow that’s slated for December.
